Northern Kentucky Amateur Radio Club Weekly Net Preamble

(This is to be used solely by Net Control Operators)
 

NET CONTROL - BE SURE TO ID NET AND YOURSELF EVERY 10 MINUTES AT A MINIMUM

"CQ CQ CQ - Calling the Northern Kentucky Amateur Radio Club Net. This net meets
every Tuesday evening at 7:30PM local time on the 147.255+ K4CO repeater located at
the William H. Davies Memorial site in Edgewood, KY. This net is sponsored by the
Northern Kentucky Amateur Radio Club, and is a directed net. Net control will control
all net activities. Your net control for this session is (give your call sign), my name is (give
your name)
, and I am located in (give your QTH). When checking in please give your

call sign, repeat call sign phonetically, then your name and your location."

 

*PAUSE*

"The purpose of this net is to provide a forum for promoting club activities and
announcements and items of interest to net participants.

Are there any announcements to be listed?"

 

*PAUSE*

"Are there any mobile or portable stations wishing to check in?"

 

*PAUSE*

"I will now begin to take check-ins. When checking in please give your call sign, repeat
call sign phonetically, then your name and your location. Check-ins will be taken in
alphabetical order based on the first letter of your call sign suffix. Call for stations with
call sign suffix ALPHA thru HOTEL; then INDIA thru QUEBEC; then ROMEO thru
ZULU. Then anyone, anywhere ALPHA thru ZULU."

 

*PAUSE*

Handle any announcements, or any other net business that may be brought up.

Start comment round. Call for any late check-ins after every 3rd or 4th commenter until
every check-in has had a chance to comment. Before closing the net are there any
additional comments, announcements or late check-ins.

"Net control would like to thank all those who checked in and remind you to check-in again next
Tuesday at 7:30PM local time. This is (give your call sign) signing off and returning the
frequency to normal and customary amateur use.

This net is now closed with at _____ local time with ____ check-ins 73. "

 

 

Once the net has been closed, please create a net report for submission to the NKARC Net Manager.

This report should include the number of check-ins, the number of minutes the net lasted, number of traffic

messages handled, number of comments received, number of announcements received, and conclude
with your call as NCS (Net Control Station). This information is used to report net activity in

the monthly Feedline.
