Amateur Radio

Amateur Radio, also known as Ham Radio, is an exciting & fun hobby, involving not only radio and communications, but electronics, computers, emergency communications, weather spotting, and all kinds of other activities!

Click here for more information on this fantastic hobby or here and here to find out about Emergency Communications and Ham Radio. (Also, see below for more multi-media choices).

Amateur Radio is open to everyone... from the youngest to the oldest, there is something in Ham Radio for you.

To become an Amateur Radio Operator, or Ham, you will need to pass a written test to obtain a license from the FCC.  Our club offers these tests!  (See the link to the left).

Our club is open to hams and non-hams alike.  If you are already a ham, please join us for our next meeting.  Even if you are not a ham, but are interested in checking it out, please join our meeting as well!

Questions?!?!  Email us for more information on how to become a Ham!

Everyone is welcomed at NKARC!!

(You will need the Adobe PDF viewer to view some of this information.  You can find that here. )
